Carrot, apple and ginger juice

My friend Zoë swears by this. It was her to talked me into buying a juicer a couple of years ago after I gave Dad mine when we moved back here from New Zealand.

Every morning without fail Zoe makes carrot, apple and ginger juice – and I have to say, it’s amazing. The secret she taught me, passed on from a friend of hers, is always clean your juicer before you drink your juice.

The other trick with this is to make sure you put your cube of ginger in amongst the apples and carrots – don’t leave it till last or it won’t be properly juiced if you don’t have a macerating juicer.

Now there are some people who say you have to drink the juice immediately because the nutrients are lost over time. That’s true, but it only takes a few minutes and then you can drink your juice, happily knowing all the hard work is done.

What a gorgeous way to enjoy some fresh, amazing apples!

Note: I only put in 1cm cube of ginger because the girls won’t touch it otherwise. You are welcome to put in more – say an inch cubed – it will be powerful then!
